MS Teams List App not sharing notifications

I have created a tab in MS Teams with a List App.  As items are created in the list and assigned to people, I want them to be notified via Teams. 

How can I do that?

@ThereseSolimeno unfortunately no... the team is using the interface via the Teams desktop application and not the SharePoint site.  Also, that is for the Creator to be notified.  We have an Assigned To field.  I would like the Assigned To person to receive a notice.

I would prefer as an MS Teams activity, but an email would be fine as well..
