MS Team Channels Emailing - Spam prevention and Message Tracking?

Copper Contributor

When you generate an email address for a Channel, it gives you a 2f1a7fec.contoso.com@amer.teams.ms address to use.

My question is, what happens if/when malicious email/spam starts coming in to one of these addresses and starts filling up a Channel?

More concerning is that I've noticed that you can not do a message trace on emails using that @amer.teams.ms, so how would you go about blocking an external sender from emailing a Channel?

Hi!

If you go to the “get email address” for a channel there’s an advanced option. Click it and you can here choose to only allow team members to send to this address or from specified domains!
