At some point late last week or over the weekend profile pictures for ~90% of users are not visible in Teams.  This behavior does not take place until the user signs out/signs in to the Teams client.  Before the sign out the pictures are available after the sign in they are no longer available.  We are currently in Islands mode.  Pictures in other O365 services are available.

Seems like a back End issue when it behaves like this!
I’d create a support ticket with MS and sort this out!

@KTimmermann not yet.  We are syncing ours through AD & AAD.  We think it could be because we are using png files and not jpeg, but they had been showing until late last week.  We are currently experimenting with changing the file types to see if that fixes things.  We haven't received any useful guidance from MS support on the incident.

@-Ivica-   Still no resolution.  However, we have changed our pictures from png to jpeg they appear to be populating now.

@chrisguiling same here, I noticed that picture do not change right away it takes few hours to apply to client. Interesting thing is that other web applications like outlook, sharepoint etc.. take the new picture right away.. hope this helps just change the picture and let your clients know that they have to wait few hours (maybe a day) to picture to appear..

We opened a ticket at Microsoft @chrisguiling. The "first level" only tried a few "standard procedures" could not fix the problem. While waiting for further information from us (for a few days) to escalate the ticket at Microsoft the bug disappeared and the profile pics reappeared – after a logout/login on the desktop apps. After that we closed the ticket and since that all works fine. :heavy_check_mark:

Support did not help, just asked their standard questions. And today, the pictures came back - MAGIC! :)

To change your profile picture, click your current picture at the top right of the screen and select Change picture. Note: Teams users with mailboxes hosted on premises must be synchronized to Azure Active Directory.

Apologies I am aware how to change just mine was there now it’s gone. But other people can see my pic. Our mailboxes are onsite currently and we connect through azure

Hi All, 

We are experiencing same issue today when all our users login to their Teams desktop client app. I tried to verify on Teams web client and found similar issue their as well. So it prove that it's not a cache issue on Teams desktop client. Tried many times logout and login back with no joy.  It was working find till yesterday.  I confirm that AD to AAD sync going well. Whatever the clients was connect till now was showing profile pictures but once they logout and login back then they missing profile pictures in Teams for all users. 

 

Do any one know what could be the issue.  Appreciate in advance for any help.
