Migration

Copper Contributor

Hi,

Has migration capability been added yet? A sudden company split means we have to migrate all information over to a new tenant by the end of this month? Please advise.

To an extent and with some limitations - read this article by @Tony Redmond: https://www.petri.com/bittitan-introduces-cross-tenant-teams-migration

AvePoint https://office365itpros.com/2019/08/19/avepoint-teams-backup/ and BitTitan are the two leaders in the space. I've documented the issues you'll meet in the petri.com article and the link above. Also note that other migration vendors (like Quadrotech Cloud Commander) will have the same capability soon. By same I mean that all the ISVs use the same migration API and experience the same constraints. For this reason you should test several products before making a choice. Of course, if you are used to a particular suite (like MigrationWiz), then it might be a good choice to continue along that path. And cost is also a prime concern, so check out what each will cost to migrate all of Teams (including SharePoint).
