Migrating fileshare content to many teams (1 fileshare to +100 teams)

Copper Contributor

Hi Guys,

We (MSP) and a lot of our customers have a Customers SMB share, under this share is a folder for eah of our clients, containg different files and folder like documentation, offers etc.

Now we want to move this to Teams, but instead of 1 team with all clients, we want to do 1 team per. client.

But how do we handle a migration like this, are there any Microsoft or 3rd party tools that can help with migrating content to from one source to a high number of destination teams.

@Michael Knudsen  you could use the Microsoft Migration Manager from Sharepoint Admin center and besides we have another 3rd party tool called Sharegate it will also do these for you....

Thanks for the answer guys. I see i can add jobs using a csv or json file, that helps aswell

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointmigration/mm-bulk-upload-format-csv-json

One quick follow up question though. Do you know if migration manager scales well we will have around 150 destionations, and have another job where we would do over 400 different destionations.

That shouldn't be a problem for the migration manager...the idea is that Migration Manager orchestrates your tasks, but you first need to plan how many migration machines you are going to provision as part of your migration architecture. On each migration machine, you have to deploy a migration manager agent

@Juan Carlos González Martínis totally correct the more Agent you have the more tasks you could run...
