Wondering who's tried these. We are adding a small 4-6 person space. I'd like to test out the Teams room solutions. We have Microsoft surface hubs in other spaces and miracast works really well. Do any of the teams systems use miracast?  For computers brought into the meeting to project onto the TV in the room like we can with the surface hub?

Well it’s two different thing! You use miracast to present your screen on the fly ( instead of using a cable ) and in a Skype meeting and also teams meeting you join a meeting, whereever and present your screen in the meeting! The SH are in the meeting as well and will see that screen!

thanks, I understand that. The process we use on the surface hubs, is that the people in the room that need to present, they don't join the meeting. They just project to the screen and then share the surface hub screen. We have found when you have people in the room join the meeting, you have to remind them to mute and turn down their speakers.

Oh okay! I would assume so still because this is both native functions of the SH! But I won’t say much more because I haven’t tried out the teams experience in Surface Hub yet!

sorry if I wasn't clear :)
We are not putting a surface hub in this new space. I was looking at the team room systems on

Hoping to try one of those :)

Hi Jason,

I deployed over 80 of the Logitech SmartDock across a large UK retailer, one in every meeting room. They are very good, if I was looking now I would suggest starting with the Lenovo, HP or soon Yealink as they come fully configured and ready to sign in.

Most don't support Miracast like a SurfaceHub (Yealink seem to be an exception) however there is a HDMI input. Pretty soon now there will be an update  where your laptop or mobile will detect you are in a Teams Room (via Bluetooth) and will then intelligently allow you to join with audio and mics turned off. You'll even be able to bring-your-own-meeting and trigger the device to join from the appointment on your mobile etc. I would guess that as it's the big trade show Enterprise Connect in March we might well see the release out by then.

Looking at the specs it seems Lenovo and HP don’t support miracast but just by wire!

Sorry! Didn’t see you there :)

@Steven Collier

Hi Steven do you know if the Microsoft teams room systems support the Bluetooth proximity connection already?

Highlighted

@Jimmy_Ferreiraall of the Crestron Flex MTR solutions are supporting the proximity join now here at Crestron.  I am pretty sure that the desktop app and the mobile application just needed to support it as the room systems themselves already had the support.

@Jimmy_Ferreira all MTR support proximity join, the required hardware was required from the very first Logitech dock, and all should be updating to the current version of the app.
