Team’s collaboration features are very much simplified, well integrated and deliver end to end capabilities. I’m focusing on the meeting space in teams in this blog. I will try to cover other features in upcoming articles.
Teams meeting can be scheduled from Microsoft Outlook as well as from Microsoft Teams.
Through Outlook : There is a Teams Meeting add-in that gets installed when you open Teams for the first time either in web app or a desktop app, provided you have the teams subscription and you are able to login successfully.
Once you login to your Teams desktop app, you windows will prompt to install the outlook add-in for Teams meeting.
Through MS Teams App:
You can schedule a meeting by clicking Meeting > Schedule a meeting
You need to make sure your Teams setting for Audio / Video are working properly.
Now you are all set to join the meeting.
Once you join the meeting you have the option to turn the camera on or off.
There are many other cool features you can take advantage of.
Share Content: Share Tray: It shows a preview of all opened files in your system. You may choose to share your entire screen or a specific file.
Take notes: Meeting Notes is another handy feature. With Teams meeting you will be able to take notes during the meeting and it is automatically saved in your chat space and ready to be sent once the meeting is finished. Unfortunately, it is not integrated with OneNote. Other nice features are Chat during meeting and ability to invite others.
Meeting notes panel
Record meeting: The best Meeting Recording experience ever… you can start recording your meeting and it automatically saves the meeting recording.
Once your meeting ends, recording will be automatically pinned to your chat window and available for you to share, send a link in the chat or you can save as a new tab where your channel members can view it later.
Microsoft Stream integration is another useful feature.
You teams meeting videos will be uploaded and broadcasted here and have a plethora of social features integrated like comments and share, adding watch lists, likes, etc.
Microsoft Teams is one of the best collaboration apps under O365 which delivers end-to-end meeting experience among other features. Microsoft has truly taken into account all the pain points of meeting tools like Skype, WebEx, Slack etc. that we have been facing for quite some time and addressed them in Teams – it’s a neat solution, robust and yet easy to use.

Is this available for Mac? We have been using Teams for a year, so what is the process to get the Outlook add-in if you're already running Teams and not opening the app for the first time? I use it daily and have not been prompted to download anything.
Currently, we can only initiate meetings through Teams, which then integrates into Outlook. The fatal flaw is that you cannot cancel a meeting through Outlook, only in Teams. You can only view your calendar on Teams up to 13 days out, so it's impossible to modify a meeting through Teams that you can't view. Is this user error and there is actually a way to view your calendar more than 13 days out? I'm on Mac desktop.

Thank you! Do you know if there's a way to view your meetings that are booked more than the current view allows, which is 13 days? I'm trying to cancel a meeting booked a month out as part of a recurring series, but I can't see it on Teams. You cannot cancel a Teams Meeting in Outlook, and in Teams, I can only see the original recurring meeting in the channel I created it in. It doesn't give you an option to delete one occurrence, rather you can only delete the entire series. The only place I've seen that you can do this is on the actual day of the meeting in the calendar....which you can only view 13 days out. We're in a hamster wheel!

I'm a technology trainer. I need to document how to end a Teams meeting. I know you can sign out, but is there an exit or end option. If I sign out, others are still able to continue to meet. I want to end the meeting, thereby closing down the meeting for everyone.

Is there a way to add or post an old meeting with all of its content (notes, chat, files) to a specific channel? I unfortunately did not schedule the meeting via the channel but would like to post it in the channel for easy access since it pertains to that project. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
