Microsoft Teams Audible Messages of Muted / Unmuted When Connecting to Audio by Phone

Copper Contributor

When I am on a Microsoft Teams call and connect to audio via my phone, I can press *6 to mute / unmute. When I perform that command, I receive an audible message of something along the lines of "You have been muted" or "You have now been unmuted" and the message prevents me from hearing the call audio, so I miss some conversation.

  1. Is there a way to turn off the notification?
  2. If not, may I suggest that the Microsoft Development Team adjusts the settings
    1. To lower the volume of the message about being muted / unmuted so people can still hear the call audio?
    2. Another option may be adding a soft ding or double ding for muted / unmuted.

Thank you!

I spoke with a contact at our organization's 3rd party IT company (not a Microsoft employee) yesterday about this.

They suggested I just press the mute button on my phone instead of *6 to either mute / unmute.

I don't know why I didn't think of that :)

I'll give it a try next time and see if that works or not.
