Microsoft Team OneDrive File Sharing

Copper Contributor

Hi There,

can anyone help on this:

1. I have SharePoint Site which is synch to OneDrive Business

2. Instead of going to SharePoint web, I drag and drop file into MS Teams

3. Files instantly create a copy instead of link

Is there anyway to create a link by directly dragging a file from OneDrive Business instead of going to web, copying the link and pasting it into teams?

I want to achieve the following with this:

1. Avoid duplications

2. Teams can work with the original copy instead of working on a duplicate file.

Thank you.

No, there isn’t. Where are they now? In a SharePoint site? And you want them too as links in Teams? What’s your scenario?
I just want to drag files from OneDrive Business to Microsoft teams and instead of a copy or duplicate, it should generate a link.

Ok! No you can’t! You have to set up the links there in a list or something. Or just move them to the team all together. You can then also sync them or add the folder (if you put them in a folder) as a shortcut to your OneDrive
