Mic icon is not representing that I am muted

Copper Contributor

Hello,

I am experiencing a bug in teams.  I have a dock attached to my MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016).  The dock is an OWC Thunderbolt 3 Dock with an aux port.  Whenever I start a teams meeting, I am initially muted in the meeting but the mic icon is on.  To unmute myself, I have to press the mic off and then on.

I do not believe I am necessarily muted.  I feel the IO audio is being routed to and from my dock.  I can confirm that my audio preferences are set to my macbook being the main input and output for my audio.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best,

Brando

Can other people hear you?

The audio is probably going to be routed to the app no matter what. When the meeting starts, it has to acquire the mic and speaker to make sure that nothing else has them.

As to "feeling" that a data stream is occurring, that sounds a little like paranoia.

@Ed Woodrick,

No one else can hear me even though the mic icon says I am unmuted.  To resolve this I have to mute and unmute myself in order for everyone else to hear me.
