I am confused :)

This is probably because the user subscribe to the underlaying office 365 group where the meeting is created in its calendar!
You can set autosubscribe to NEW members of groups with powershell
Use the flags:
with the set-unifiedgroup cmdlet!
Note that this only applies to future members of a group and can also be overridden by users themselves!

In addition to @Adam Deltinger's great advice, everyone on the Team should have received an email when they were added to the Team (group). One of the links in the body of that email is to follow events in their own calendar. That way, they don't just go silently to a group calendar.

I double checked with the Invitation mail - there is just the link to open the Team - no link to any Settings...

we tried to Change with this attribute
but this did not work.
we tested with an existing team and existing users, but it did not work. how Can we Change it for extisting users?
in the discription of the Attribute it says
The AlwaysSubscribeMembersToCalendarEvents switch controls the default subscription settings of new members that are added to the Office 365 Group. Changing this setting doesn't affect existing group members.
If you use this switch without a value, all future members that are added to the group will have their subscriptions set to ReplyAndEvents.
If you use this exact syntax: -AlwaysSubscribeMembersToCalendarEvents:$false, all future members that are added to the group will have their subscriptions set to ReplyOnly.
Group members can change their own subscription settings, which can override your intended use of this switch.

thanks Adam. I think there is still Kind of a misunderstanding...
This behaviour is the behaviour that I am looking for :) I found no way (with the "new" Team), so send a Meeting to only a couple of People, but to post the Meeting in one channel (so that everybody Can look at the files, Videos, notes, etc. later)
if it is not possible, thanks for you help - i just want to be sure that I really communicated what we want to achieve :) thanks a lot!

This can't be done from Teams for now! When you select a channel meeting and then invite other people, it will become a ordinary teams meeting (not channel meeting)
There is a uservoice for this here:
Although there is a workaround also found on the user voice!
You can already do this. Create the meeting in Teams, then edit the meeting from the group's calendar in Outlook, add the guest (non-team member) and/or room, save - voilà!
It's a minor inconvenience that this cannot be done from within Teams, but it works and the Join Microsoft Teams Meeting link will work for the guest (that was unexpected, but I confirmed it works via testing).
If not familiar with accessing the group's calendar, you do that via the vcalendar view in Outlook, bottom of left pane.
Channel meetings are owned by the team and all team members can edit the meeting when opened from the team calendar.
Adding a room replaces the Team/Channel shown in location, but from what I could tell, that had no affect on the channel meeting. (It could be that it had an affect and I just didn't notice it.)
I hope this clarifies it :)

If this solution only works for future members being added to a Team, what about for current members of a Team. Some people are receiving meeting invites where others aren't.

Hello everyone. New to the community. Thanks for all the previous posts. I have a followup question that I think is relevant here. What notification(s), if any, are sent to participants when a meeting originated in a team channel has been changed? Additionally, what, if anything, happens when someone tries to propose a new time or declines an invite? Thank you.

When I set up a meeting in Teams and select the Chanel some people but not all people who are part of the channel receive notification of the meeting invite automatically without me selecting them. I'm so confused why some people get a notification and why some don't and why automatically the notification is sent across the channel members.
Did anyone find any resolution to this or why is happening?
Note: I'm not able to edit (delete) the team added by default to the meeting invite either
One member who received notification does not have an option to follow the channel either. The member did get a email notification which he thought it was addressed directly.

Interesting insight, thanks. I have a team with 50+ users, all who are subscribed to the O365 group. I tried scheduling a Channel meeting for the first time last week for me and 5 other members, I scheduled in in Teams, selected the channel (to ensure meetings comments were captured in the channel) and added the other 5 users. Imagine my surprise when several of the other Team members started joining or emailing to say they were unavailable, I then realised the invite had automatically copied the O365 group for the team without realising, so had to email the entire team to ask them not to join. Have been searching for a way to avoid this but from what I can find your solution seems to be the best way to schedule a meeting with a limited number of team members, but to capture comments in the Teams Channel. Shame this is not an option to automatically include / exclude the O365 group as required

Thanks, it wasn't so much that it needed to be restricted (as we wanted the comments captured), just that we didn't need all 50+ members automatically being sent invites to join

@MatthewVatcher @Chris Webb Since I experienced the same issue, I also realised that only some of the channel members received notification to attend the meeting invite and not all of them. If they subscribed or not subscribed to the channel, have notification activated or not is not relevant as seems like it doesn't follow the rule. I still not figure it out why some users have been notified but not all of them.

You might want to have a look at this thread as it seems to explain the behaviour if the Team has certain settings selected in the admin centre.
