Managing Teams Client Settings

Iron Contributor

How do we as admins manage settings in Teams (particularly with Intune) for our users?

Example settings, Theme, Register Teams as the Chat client (presence), notifications, etc.

The only thing I see is manage rather or not Teams opens at startup.

@Jeff Harlow it's more helpful to think about Teams as a web app, the configurations you can do are all via Teams policies.

1. The theme is a user choice, no policies to control

2. When the user is switched to Teams Only mode the setting to register as chat app will become defaulted to on.

3. Notification settings are user choices, no policies to control

You can't actually control the behaviour of when Teams starts either, the setting you see will only control Teams before a user first logs in, once they do then the client will start every time unless the user chooses not to.
