Making call from Outlook contact card to a phone number no longer working since 1.6.00.18681

Dear all

Since Update to Teams 1.6.00.18681, starting a call from Outlook contact card to a phone number is no longer working. Presence is visible, which indicates Teams Presence Plugin, which is handling these requests, is in general working.

Making calls to a SIP address of a contact (IM address) is still working, only calls to phone numbers are broken. After clicking to link with phone number under "Work phone" nothing happens. This worked before.

User is fully enabled for Teams Telephony.

Does someone else mentioned this issue and found a solution to make it work again?

So please do help me with the steps on from where we can download this version, as i download MS Teams from Browser and it will says the same.

Please suggest the steps to follow working with user.
Sorry I was too vague:

Under Settings / Register Teams as the chat app for Office (requires restarting Office applications)
Logout / Logon and it should work again.
Thanks - thats how we usually do it. Still using Outlook 2016 though, so the Register Teams as the chat app is only available for M365 Office within the "Teams New".

well i guess, i can only hope MS is working on this bugfix...
Yes just got a phone call from Microsoft Support. They have raised an internal bug report which they are working on it right now. There should be a fix in the backend, which is to be rolled out today. They told me that it could take some time until it reaches every affected user.

sorry, after the reboot or logout/login it will not work again. so i see like pga we need a bugfix from MS
same problem here with the new Teams app (using latest version 23202.1509.2295.2283, last updated on 8/11/2023) and latest office. Teams logout/login did not help.

@Greysi

With the new Outlook client and the new Teams Client i got a new "Call"-Button.

This works for me.
With the old Outlook client and the old Teams client we have the same problem.

still not working on our clients, MS Support told me they still try to analyse the problem. Next update should be tomorrow... kinda lost hope of a quick fix

Well, Microsoft screwed it up big time! MS Answer on my ticket:

"The ticket was checked by Senior Engineer.

It is a matter of changing software and this service remains.
The finding is that it will no longer work with the old Outlook.
The recommendation is to test with the new Outlook and new Teams app."

This is kinda funny. It works in our environment for most of the people again. As my support engineer stated Microsoft planned a change in the background services and this made it working again after like 24 hours for some of our users. As of today most of the users are confirming this again.

Take my ticket number as reference (somewhere in my posts above) this should really make them think about their statement again.

Unfortunately: Microsoft Support and its quality really varies from support engineer to support engineer. And is commonly pretty poor to be honest.

We have not updated to the new Outlook nor to the new Teams App. So I really don't know why your SE is giving out such a statement.

Solution
Since today, it also works on my environment for regular Teams client. With new Teams Client (public preview) it never worked and still does not work. Hope this issue with regular Teams client triggers fixing new Teams Client (public preview) as well before it become general available.
Same here, we got a new Teams version 1.6.00.22954 and it works again! At least on 2 test machines...
We are experiencing the same issue. Not all people, but most
We've tried the New Outlook and New Teams and combinations of Old and New and it still isn't working for a lot of people.

What is the fix???

Just checked again today and still no Click2Call. It's a showstopper for me.  Isn't there a registry hack or something?  That's how I got Click2Call to work with Outlook (and Skype at the time) years ago...
