Macbook Pro cannot connect to company Teams account

Teams was working fine on my M1 Macbook pro, then suddenly stopped connecting in both the desktop client and the web. It gives the error that "something went wrong" and suggests trying again or signing out. I have tried all the usual fixes: clearing the app and credentials caches. uninstalling and reinstalling the app, I even completely wiped and reinstalled the OS, but the issue persists. Interestingly, I can connect to my personal @outlook.com teams account just fine, this only affects our company Microsoft365 tenant.
