Login Teams Free not possible due to invaild SMS code

Hello!
Maybe someone can help me. I apologize to if my English isn't that good, it's not my mother tongue.

I try to login to Teams free with my personal Microsoft Account. I use an Android phone with Android 9.1.
If I try to login via the app it will tell me I have to enter my phone number. I live in Germany so +49 is given and I enter my number like 178 xxxxxxx. Then it will send me a code via SMS shortly after. Aprox. 5 Seconds. If I now try to enter these 4 numbered code the App always tells me the code is invalid and I shall try again. Needles to say that the four numbers are correct in each attempt. =D
What can I do?

What I tried so far:
Deinstall the app
Reinstall the app
Delete the cache

Hallo,

I have the same problem - sms code received and the app declines it.

The policy post does not seem apply, as we use the 'for free' Microsoft accounts, unrelated to a workplace - so nothing we can change.

My gut feeling is that MS needs to tweak that issue during US working hours tomorrow.
