Occasional Visitor

I have three Microsoft accounts, personal, corporate, and a student one from a university I where recently enrolled. I didn't have problems with a personal and corporate one, especially since I didn't have overlapping services with the accounts, but since adding the university one I have been having problems reaching the 'correct' account for O365, Azure, and now Teams.

With O365 I had to completely sign out several times in several locations before the sign on would stop automatically signing in the wrong account. Now I am signed in with my corporate account to O365 and every other Microsoft property I can find, but when I go to Teams from any link, including from the menu within O365, directly to teams.microsoft.com, etc. I get automatically redirected to the adfs login page for my university with no way to use my ALREADY LOGGED IN corporate credentials.

How do I access my corporate teams page from O365?

I need to be able to switch between my accounts within these applications. It should not take logging out and clearing all cookies and browser cache every time I need to access a document or discussion. Google has this nailed, the profile icon in the corner of any google app allows you to switch between any of your accounts within any tab and clearly indicates who you're logged in as for each.

Yeah, this is a struggle! Using different accounts within the same browser is a mess! Starting a inprivate session in the browser works most of the time but I recommend using Chrome with different profiles!
In the top right corner of chrome you have the ability to create different profiles that is totally separated from other profiles!
Name a profile “student” for example and set preferred office 365 service as the homepage! Create this for all the accounts you have and you are good to go and can use all these accounts at the same time without hassle

SOLUTION:

1) "Win + I" => Accounts => Other Users => Add someone else to this PC (for example, user without Microsoft account named MSTeams, not Administrator)
2) "Ctrl + Alt + Del" => Switch user
3) Login to second MSTeams user
4) Download and install MSTeams
5) Login to the MSTeams using an account with less activity and close application
6) Ctrl + Alt + Del => Switch user
7) Return to your main account
8) Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\ and find cmd.exe
9) Click "Shift + Right Mouse" and chose "Run as different use" (find in google how to add it if you dont have this option)
10) Login with MSTeams user
11) Write following command in the console
12) C:\Users\MSTeams\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\Update.exe --processStart "Teams.exe"

To run MSTeams again repeat following steps
8) Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\ and find cmd.exe
9) Click "Shift + Right Mouse" and chose "Run as different user" (find in google how to add it if you dont have this option)
10) Login with MSTeams user
11) Write following command in the console
12) C:\Users\MSTeams\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\Update.exe --processStart "Teams.exe"

This steps can be optimized by PowerShell script:
#run as admin
if (!([Security.Principal.WindowsPrincipal][Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity]::GetCurrent()).IsInRole([Security.Principal.WindowsBuiltInRole] "Administrator")) { Start-Process powershell.exe "-NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File `"$PSCommandPath`"" -Verb RunAs; exit }

$username = '.\MSTeams'
$password = 'YOUR_PASSWORD_OF_THE_MSTEAMS_USER.'

$securePassword = ConvertTo-SecureString $password -AsPlainText -Force
$credential = New-Object System.Management.Automation.PSCredential $username, $securePassword
Start-Process 'C:\Users\MSTeams\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\Update.exe' '--processStart "Teams.exe"' -Credential $credential

Also, you can add this script to the windows scheduler with log in to account trigger with admin permission

@ivan6932 thanks for this

but does this not strike anyone as strange or rather insane?

Well it just shows again, what a **bleep** show MS products, though I must say, this made me rofl

thanks for posting it though....

@Devin Taylor This is EXACTLY my problem. I have logged out of my corporate id completely and for personal meetings, it still redirects me to corporate page after I have chosen browser mode to join Teams meeting as guest. Tried everything, nothing works.

So... How to explain to an old ladie that is student and in isolation due to covid to fire up a Powershell session run a lot of fancy colorful commands and fix her problem. LoL Just in Microsoft world!

@marcelbr Agree.  I support multiple clients so I have several Teams ID's  It is nuts I can not explicitly say I am using this ID or guest access from this email ID.  I deleted my team app data and I still have a client logon defaulting in Firefox.

Anybody is aware of something on UserVoice about this issue? For Edu is really a mess. Students don't want to install teams and most of them not even know what a hell is 'in private'.
