Live events - Ways to improve performance?

Hi all,

we've just gotten started with live events in Teams.

Overall it's really neat how the interface works and all. However, we noticed that the the performance is abysmal. There is about a 15s lag between presenter and viewer. Moreover, the video quality is only about 575kb/s (judging from the recorded and downloaded video) and we can tell on screen that text is hardly legible.

So I was looking into eCDN solutions but as ar as I understand this it will only help if a live event is viewed by many users from within the corporate network.

Because currently, all our employee`s are working from home so an eCDN solution wouldn`t help here, would it?

Do you know of any other things we could try to at least increase the bitrate of the live video?

We have the total bitrate capped via Teams meeting policy at the default 50mbs/s and if we monitor the metrics during the live meeting we`re far from reaching that threshold.

Thanks for your input.
