Invited a user as a guest to my 'Team', now they cant sign up & create their own Team

Copper Contributor

I invited a external user to my team as a test to see how it worked. This worked without a hitch. However this user has since tried to use their email address to sign up for Teams and create their own team for their organisation and are beset by errors. If they try and sign up they get 'Looks like you're using a work or school account. Sign in to check if your organisation already has a Microsoft Teams licence waiting for you'. If they try and sign in though theyre greeted by 'You're missing out! Ask your admin to enable Microsoft Teams for [domain] You’re currently signed in as [email address]'. Is there something I can do to help them?

@brears Hey, have them try the process with a InPrivate browser window https://teams.microsoft.com if the issue persist it could very well be a case of someone with the same domain name that has signed up for a self-service subscription. Then you can perform an internal admin takeover https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/misc/become-the-admin?view=o365-worldwide
