Hi,

We suddenly are unable to see the Translate option in messages/conversation. Has anything changed recently?

There is a LOT happening to Teams right now with MS ignite going on and several new features getting pushed out starting this week! This could be a cause and if so probably others will have the same issue! I’ll check my tenant later..if it doesn’t return soon, create a ticket! Also first check the admin center for any related settings! A lot is going on there as well

Nothing has changed in regards of Translation and it's quite probable a temporary issue

Yes indeed! My though was maybe this temporary issue had something to do with Teams updates in general

If you guys can confirm what is your current experience when you try to translate..

Mine is working fine on latest Teams version. I would check if you have access that someone wasn't messing with your messaging policies. The enable / disable translation feature is part of the message policy so you will want to go into the new Teams admin center and check the policies to make sure the slider isn't off for the translation on your assigned policy.

Update:

Apparently Translate feature was released with default=OFF setting. There was a deployment few days ago and that enforced this OFF setting.
 
Due to this enforcement, some tenants started getting the default=OFF.
 

However, everyone facing this issue should be able to change this by using the Set-CsTeamsMessagingPolicy cmdlet.
