If I installed Teams as Admin but want to use with my standard user profile.

Copper Contributor

Hello,

I installed teams as an admin on my computer but I want to use a standard user profile for that instance on my computer. If I am on the same computer, when I open my Standard User profile, normally I would see an instance of the program I just installed as an admin in that profile. With teams I do not see that and it is not available in the standard user partition.

Is there a button or instructions I need to use to make the instance of Teams available in my standard user profile too?

Thank you,

WVR

Hi!
Teams installs in the current user’s profile (app data) folders. So you have to install per user. There is a machine wide installer version of Teams also, most commonly used in VDI’s etc..

The Federal Government - DoD 64 bit versions do not download. Are those restricted downloads?

So a normal Teams installer is user-based, but there is a Machine based installed for deployment from SCCM. That will allow it to show up for everyone that signs into the PC.  you can find the information in this docs site: Install Teams using Microsoft endpoint Configuration Manager

Hope that helps
