I can't start using MS Teams due to loop

I am new to MS Teams and want to create a team and invite contacts to join it. But I download the app, and it opens a window with the message "You're not on Teams yet, but you can set it up for your organisation. Sign up for Teams". I click on Sign up and it takes me back to a previous window to sign in, and then to download the app, etc. I can't progress from here.

Just in case anyone else may get frustrated in a never ending loop, I found the answer to my own question in the conversation "lancer Teams et créer un compte", started by
