How to get back Teams Chat History - Teams Retention Policy

Please i need your help on this.

A retention policy was set up to delete chat history in Teams. But it seems the configuration was misconfigured and all Chats older than 1 Month are gone. The problem started since June 23rd 2022.

Please how we do get back the chat history for our users.

Your best bet is to do a search from the compliance portal. Please note that if a delete only retention policy is in place, chat messages will be permanently deleted between anywhere from 1 to 14 days total time. There’s some helpful information available at the link below.
