How do Teams (task) icons work?

Copper Contributor

Can someone help me and explain how the icons next to the name of a Team or the icon next to a task when handed out work? Sometimes it's just one letter, sometimes it's two, sometimes the first two words, sometimes first and last. I can't figure out how Teams decides.

Can you choose the icon when you send out a task?

Here at school, I have 3 teachers that use the same Team. When any one of them sends out a task, it gets a "2C" icon in front of the task name. They ask me if it's possible to assign their own icon so it's easier to see which tasks are theirs and which ones belong to their colleagues.

Of you are referring to the teams icon, this can be changed by any owner of that Team. On the right of the team name click “...” and then manage Team. Go to “settings” and from there go to Team picture
