How can we respond/ reply to a comment in Teams?

How can we respond to a comment by making a chat thread?

All these capabilities are missing in Microsoft Teams whereas we have these in Cisco Webex Teams

You can reply to specific comments in the Teams mobile apps just now, but not in the desktop app. Hopefully that functionality is on the way soon. It is much requested.
