I am well versed in SharePoint and in the past I've used "Picture Libraries" as they are able to show thumbnails for images. Picture Libraries, though, don't seem to be well supported in SharePoint and not at all in Teams. Any guidance on how to display a list of images with their thumbnails, within Teams?

Use the website tab and point it at a sharepoint library where you are using the tile view. it will be a lttle awkward with authentication for now, but next year there will be a dedicated SharePoint page tab, where you could have your library as a webpart.

Thanks. I think that'll work, although it's ugly to have a web view within Teams.

Was there ever an update here? Is adding the "website" teams app still the recommended approach?

I'm looking forward for this Integration too.
Kinda sad that such Picture Library feature is yet to be bring over to Team since 2017.
Any work around to preview the Picture Library in Team?

@Daniel Robbins I was able to add a tab in Teams to a SharePoint document library but am unable to add an image library. I see where I can add a SharePoint page, but the only choices I'm given are to add pages from the SharePoint site which is associated to the team. We have an SharePoint site for our Learning and Development team which houses all of our images and templates. I'd like to link to this site to Teams in place of the default SharePoint site which was automatically created and assigned to the team. Does anyone know how to do this?

Well, here it is 2020 and we still don't have any place to put our photos in teams. Still waiting... @ahjeremy

2020 is well started an still no way to nicely display Pictures in Teams ? Come on... now would be the time, there's plenty of people wanting to show how their life has changed now that they're unable to come to work, and we're stuck with an outdated classic webpart that must be embedded as a website in Teams (and most of the times triggers a very ugly authentication pop-up)...

I spent some time to actually figure this out because it was driving me NUTS and I believe I have achieved some success.
1. Go to your Sharepoint site and create a new Page with an Image Gallery "web part". Here's how to do this - https://support.office.com/en-us/article/create-and-use-modern-pages-on-a-sharepoint-site-b3d46deb-2...
2. Customize your image gallery - put all the stuff you want in it and then publish it when done.
3. When you publish be sure to copy the URL and whatever (email, collaborate, save template...)
4. Go BACK to Teams add a "Webview" tab and paste the URL you copied linking to your Image Gallery page you created in #3.
Thank you Microsoft for driving your users nuts so they end up as free FAEs. You put the "zing" in Amazing!

Thanks for taking the time to look into this.
This unfortunately still doesn't quite fills the bill.
For one it will still very randomly prompt user to log on to the SP site where the page is hosted which is not only ugly but also very annoying and disruptive.
The other issue being that people are not able to upload pictures unless they are permitted to do so in the underlying SP site.
We definitely need a way to nicely allow users to upload and then show pictures with an out of the box component that Microsoft should provide.

@Sébastien Harnist Have you found a solution meanwhile? We have the same need.

@DanielSchnyder Unfortunately not no, we have given up for now.

@Daniel Robbins I was able to do this by adding a new OneNote tab. I created one page, although you could create multiples - and multiple sections. I was able to drag and drop pictures from files. There are grow, shrink and crop options for the pictures. Now if I can just get the start conversation panel to go away...
