Expanded Capacity for Teams Meetings

Is there any word on expanding the participant capacity for a Teams Meeting?

I had read that Microsoft was aiming to expand the capacity to 1,000 participants by the end of 2020 but had not heard any updates since. My company is looking to hold a virtual conference for about 500 people, and the Live Event does not allow for the level of audience interaction that we are aiming for.

Any information would be appreciated!
