Duplicating groups created for school classes / subjects in schools

Hi....when a new academic school year starts, school groups that were created for the previous year usually get archived.

I want to duplicate the groups before archiving them....so that I can update the copies and keep the originals as they are.

How can I do that?

Should I archive all groups of the previous academic year and create new ones for the new year? although many of the them will stay the same except for their new members
