Difference between external users chatting using a conference call or a new chat

Brass Contributor

Hello,

I have some inquiries related to external users management.

Last year, we could not create a chat with external users, due to this constraint, we noticed that anytime that we had a conference call, a chat would open and there, external users could interact AND even attach files.

This year we are allowing users to - chat only - with external users. We have decided to not allow these users to attach files by now.

From these two scenarios, I have two questions:

1) Why is it possible to attach files in a chat with external users when there is a conference call event? I mean, is there a different classification between these types of external users?

2) Can we limit the files sharing in the conference call event chat to comply with our governance policy?

Please note that we do not want to use "guest" modality for now.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @anagonzalez,

1.) You can attach files in conference calls because In Teams, every conference call is based on a group chat

2.) Not currently, multiple similar uservoices open to be able to control file sharing and restricting uploads here so would recommend voting on them

I have open a new one if these don’t completely capture your requirements

Hope that answers your questions
