When you change language in the Teams client. The date/time settings also change. In Skype4B it uses computer time and settings. Why does not the teams client do the same? At least for time and date settings.
I have for me english (us) in Windows, so for me it's no issue. But if you have Norwegian settings on windows and then use english i Teams, the time and date changes.
For some users this is a big pain and need to be fixed.

Having tested this in my environment I am not experiencing the same issue:
In both cases the post times displayed in Microsoft Teams (desktop and browser) are as per the desktop time zone.
If I change the desktop top time/zone to another (e.g. GMT) the times in Microsoft Teams are adjusted accordingly. Worth nothing that you need to sign-out/sign back into the desktop app for this to take effect.

Wierd, just tried this:
Windows Timezone GMT
Teams language setting (Italian)
Chrome default language setting Italian
On both the desktop and browser and I am seeing the times of posts in GMT.

It is a JOKE
MS do not understand international formats. In fact they really don't understand the way the world works, I have had 30 years trying to tell them, but never makes a difference.
Firstly if they default they should use the only sensible date that cannot be misunderstood, which is why it is a standard ISO8601 and is used by W3C etc.
Next they think that because you are in a country that you must speak the language, so often in HK they default to Chinese, and even many Chinese in HK cannot read and write it (lived a long time overseas).
So simple to have ONE setting that controls everything.
End of RANT.

Seems MS is regressing in date formats. Windows has perfect settings in Control Panel/Settings app but Microsoft's own apps (i.e. Teams in this case) does not even use it.
Also noticed same thing on the XBox One, date and time formats go with the country/language selected, no Settings app section for date/time formats. The thing is I always prefer my computers (or XBox or phone) to be in English but use a date format which is not as confusing as US date (why would anyone put months before days and then years MM/DD/YYYY instead of a logical DD/MM/YYYY or YYYY/MM/DD. Also, English US doesn't let someone use 24h clock but only 12h with AM/PM.

Having the same issue here with Date format, and even time format.
We use dd-MMM-yyyy as date short format, and 24-hours time format.
Teams app doesn't apply Windows settings at all.

I have the same issue on the desktop client. Is there no way to set the date/time format independently of the language? My native language is American English, so I have that selected. But I live and work in Germany, so I would prefer to have the dates in dd.mm.yyyy format and the times in 24-hour format. My OS is set up just like I want it, but in Teams it appears to be impossible.

My computer windows 10 is Arabic and can be switched to English. When I go to the Microsoft Teams and scheduled a quiz to my students I could not change the date to English it is using Arabic months. How do I schedule the quiz correctly time and date using Ms. TEAMS

To be honest - we've been spoilt by Windows since XP or so: We can choose ISO8601 settings that show at once in applications like Explorer.
Apps like Teams are designed to be simple. Often this makes customization options harder (to find) --- but it presumably helps most people.
The assumption that "If people speak X they use Y." however needs reconsideration, IMHO. The restriction can lead users to making mistakes more often.
