Hi, 

 

After the latest update in teams I am no longer able to create channels in my teams.

It flashes on the screen for a second and goes away. Have tried from the app, and online in multiple ways.

I am having the same problem.  On the web or Windows app, I fill in all the fields to create a new channel in a team. Clicking add seems to do something but the channel never shows up.  Tried to create a channel in two different teams with the same result.  On the IOS phone app, the new channels showed up for a second but then disappeared. 

If I go to a previously created channel, then go to files, then open in SharePoint. If I go up one level of the folder structure I can see all the channels I tried to create but they still don’t show up in the channels list or the manage channels page.
Do a full logout / login and the check all clients
I have not personally experienced those problems...by the way, try also the web cliente to see if there you can create channels

Logged in this morning and it was working. I didn't change or do anything differently.

 

BTW the web portal was not working yesterday.

I'm having the same problem.

  • I have tried to create new channels in a number of teams (web and Win10 client)
  • Appears to complete - even appears sometimes for a second
  • Navigating to the SharePoint document library shows that the folder for the channel was created

I have logged of all sessions and logged back in again, but no Teams client (web, Win10, iOS) shows the newly created channels.

 

Anybody got any ideas? Should I open a support request with Microsoft via the Office 365 admin portal?

Facing the exact same problem and went through the steps you have described. The document library gets created but the channel is not visible.

Have tried one additional solution. Logged in as O365 Admin and added channel in a Team. It is remaining for a longer period before ultimately disappearing. Also noted that the Wiki tab is missing in the new channel created (was able to see this as the channel remained visible for more than a second).

Same problem here. I confirmed that it's not just my client -- other users don't see the channel either. 

I've tried creating the channel via the O365 Admin portal as well and got the same result as you.

Have you all created a ticket for this??

Yet another "me to". I can create functional channels via Microsoft Graph, so that might be viable work-around until whatever is broken gets sorted. 

Got to work Thursday morning and I guess Microsoft had fixed the problem.

Thank you! I've confirmed it's all good now. 

All fixed here as well, I can create channels and they now appear in the client.

 

One additional comment, the test channels I created during the problem still existed in SharePoint but were not showing in the Teams client. I went in and deleted those folders in the SharePoint Client.
