Hi
We seem to have an issue when copying conversations either under Chat or Teams. The good old "selecting the stuff you want to copy it" does not work.
A workaround seems to be seleting the first word or line of text and then Shift+Down for 1sec or so until it selects a larger portion of conversation.
Any thoughts on this.
Thanks
Albert

Bueller? This is exactly my concern - any ideas? The workaround above does not work for me.

Hi Team,
any plans to implement this useful feature?
Thanks

When will this much needed feature be added? We really should not struggle with such a basic task in software in 2018, should we? And for the love all good in the world, please get rid of the bookmark, like, etc. icons on the upper right of the message. Those things are constantly messing with me when I'm trying to click a link or select text. Sooo frustrating! They should either be moved or invoked in some other fashion.

Select the necessary message or several messages with the left mouse button (LMB should be pressed, do not let go) and press the key combination on the keyboard Ctrl + C.

Thank you for the response, Michael, but have you actually tried this on multiple responses? It simply does not work! And then the ridiculous icons that appear on mouse hover completely interrupt the copy effort as well. Ugh! Such basic ridiculous implementation that some simple user test cases should vet out. Sloppy testing and/or sloppy coding!

If you've ever actually tried this you'll see how clunky this is. It doesn't work well at all for a conversation that requires more than one page of scrolling.
Can we get a real answer please?

Yes, this is pathetic.
Two years later and such basic thing still causes so much frustration. It seems that user experience is not that important anymore. I have impression that what counts now is number of features and nice looking UI.

@Mark Dye Totally agree. Very frustrating since they are promoting a complete move from Skype to Teams when Teams doesn't have the same (very useful) functionality as Skype.

@nirgal I can select all the text by clicking and holding the left mouse button and moving it down. I can right-click on the selected text and select Copy.
Only problem is that it doesn't actually copy. It won't paste into Word.
What a shambles.

@Alan Cossey i had the same problem but found I could copy and paste from the browser version of Teams (as opposed to the desktop app)

@Albert Strašnov THIS REPLY IS YEARS LATER 2020. However, look for the pop out chat, "Chat emergente" in Spanish. you can batch copy from there.

No, this still is not useful. If you paste all it segments up the conversation, you see pages of spammed emojis and it is not clean or useful at all. Really? A simple copy paste of the chat conversation into a usable format for word, notepad, email, is too much to ask? After a couple years??? wow..

@Albert Strašnov Yep really rubbish implementation of copy and paste extremely clunky.

@Wild_Will not seeing any copy options that work any better also I've got a convo that's been going on for 6 months now and I need to put it somewhere were I can analyse it and write it up a decent select all/copy/paste option would solve that for me at the moment all I've got is a clunky workaround I have no confidence in. :|

On the top right corner below the X is a box with an arrow pointing out of the top right corner. Click that to "Pop out chat".
Now you can copy and paste like you want.
