Hi,
I use really often copy & paste of pictures from websites but it is possible to paste them to the conversation only in some cases. Does exist some cases where it works and does not work? I tried to find some logical explanation but I did not find it. For example I tried to copy our logo from main bar on SharePoint (screen1) and it is possible to paste it to conversation (screen2). Then I tried to copy website logo (screen3) and it is not possible to paste it to conversation (screen4). But when I paste it to "mspaint" application (screen5) or Skype chat it is pasted (screen6). Why it does not work in Teams application?
Thank you,
Mirek

Hi Miroslav,
Yes its a known issues. and Microsoft is working on it. I had this issues and I am somehow managing with this work around below.
Install Image app in your Teams channel and search for images and inserting is easy :) ... internally this apps uses Bing Search.
Hope this works
Thanks,
Thuyavan

I just found another flaw related this. I use Snagit often to copy and paste images into Teams, but if there is transparency in the image you're trying to paste, it won't paste (even though it easily pastes elsewhere, for example into a Microsoft Word file).
This wouldn't paste in Teams at all:

@mandel2019 Wow! This is true. I just removed the transparency and voila! I can live with that until it is fixed. Great tip! I was going mental with this problem.

@mandel2019 That's it! I often use Snag It's torn edges for small excerpts and that function adds transparency and then won't paste into Teams chats. I've been trying to figure out the randomness for some time and you nailed it. Thanks, it seems now at least I know how to get around the problem.

I'm still running into issues with copy/paste out of Teams in June 2020. If someone pastes an image into the chat window, on the Desktop client I can right-click it on that image in chat and see exactly one option: "Copy Image". If I single-click it, it expands to a larger version, but there are zero options to do something meaningful with that expanded image via either click, or right-click on it. I can only dismiss it with Escape.
This "Copy Image" option does not work similarly to any other "Copy Image" function in any other application I can find, for one simple reason: I can't paste that copied image anywhere outside of the Teams environment. Copy and Paste is really not rocket science. The System Clipboard exists for a reason. Please use it.
"Copy Image" does me no good if there are no options to do something meaningful with that copied image. This has been an issue for years, and for the life of me, I cannot understand why.
I have a business need to save images that my co-workers post in Teams chat, but there appears to be no option to do so. This is ultra-basic functionality for anything in a Windows environment. We should not be seeing years of no meaningful progress on this very basic piece of functionality.
On an unrelated note, it would really help if responses to UserVoice issues all automatically carried a date/time stamp on them. It really does not much good to see a response of "we're working on this issue, and hope to see some progress on this soon" if you have no idea if someone on the team made that observation two days ago, versus two years ago. Again, these are basic things, folks.

'm having the same issues. Please advise asap, thank you. Miroslav Novák

I've found a workaround for this issue and an apparent cause of the issue.
If you are using Snagit to capture images, and you have effects turned on, like shadows, then SnagIt is adding a small transparency to the image to process the shadow and Teams doesn't know what to do with that transparency.
Same thing, when you add drawings outside of the original capture, it will add transparencies, which Teams won't know what to do with them:
For these issues, I found two workarounds:
As for what is the true root cause, I can only assume Teams is not smart enough to accept whatever special PNG format SnagIt is using. I tried Snapping Tool and it worked excellently, but since we use SnagIt and we like it better than the Snapping Tool due to the Pro Advanced features it offers, then learning how to still use SnagIt and not be frustrated is a breeze.
