Convert hyperlink to preview in Teams feed

Whenever we post a link in our Teams feed, we end up with an ugly mess showing the full URL, even when it also generates a preview (see attached image). In Facebook and some other sites you can remove the URL details and just have the preview be the link, but I can't find a way to do that in Teams. Is there?

I typically will use a hyperlink in part of the message so there's no link at all.  The preview still displays. If you delete the URL, the preview will be removed.
