Hello,

So i need to connect 2 companies in microsoft teams, is that even possible?

If so i need some directions on how to do it. I am admin on both companies 365 accounts.

I have searched online but nothing helped me so far.

Thanks!

Hi! Teams is member based, meaning you add members to a Team from MS Teams! Here you can add guests to a team by typing the mailadress in the "add members" setting! Cheers / Adam

I agree. There is no federation or similar setting, e.g. if you want to see teams list from other org. All you can do, is to invite users from other org as guests to teams. Maybe in this scenario it is more fitting to have two different domains on one Office 365 tenant.

@Oleg K

Hi I got here searching how to exchange with a user on another company that is ALSO using Teams in his company

Nightmare nightmare

If I invite him as an External User. HE WILL HAVE TO LOGOUT FROM IS OWN TEAMS et reopen a session on MY TEAM read the converation, disconnect et reconnect to his company Teams.

I would have expected he would see the Team i created in MY COMPANY that that Team would appear in HIS COMPANY TEAM. NOPE !

It is two different COMPANIES with each its own account.

So for me the en of the story is.

If you have Team and the external user you want to invite in your Team is also using Team ... Forget it.

The user will pass his time connecting disconnecting.

That external user will refuse to constantly do this

Is there something i dont understand or am i right ?

I want to add that I am a consultant with an Office 365 account. Dont need Team internally. I want to use Team to communicate with my customer. It works fine for customers NOT USING TEAM in their own company.
It does not work for Customer already using Team as to would have to disconnect from their internal Team and reconnect to My Team. Ridiculous !

So Team is for
Team User vs non Team Users
Non Team Users vs Team Users
Team users vs Team Users is unusable !

Addendum
I mean Team users from Company 1 vs Team Users from Company 2 is unusable !
of course within the same company Team works fine.

So Team is for Fortune 100 companies and Team is not intended for Consultant dealing with multiple companies ... is that what Team is about ?

Yes, it is inconvenient. As a workaround you can suggest them to use Teams in a browser to contact your Teams org. One can even create web apps for different tenants to connect https://practical365.com/blog/use-teams-web-apps-in-edge-preview-for-easy-guest-access/
This is currently 4th request by votes https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/17750851-i-want-to-use-multipl...
Vote on it and hope MS will do it soon.

Excellent work-around idea. This works!
