Closing Conversations In teams

We have Multiple teams and many channels.    We use Teams for all of our collaborative discussions.   When a conversations is finished (maybe we are scoping an event or a new product) and we want to close the conversation how do we go about doing that?   Once we have the conversation closed is there a way to go back and view it later?   

Scrolling through all of the conversations in Teams is starting to be significant I can't imagine what it will be like a year from now if there is no way to close out a conversation.    Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

I dont really think Teams is best suited for this kind of collaboration. Unless you start creating channels per conversation or similar. Why dont you try using Yammer Groups instead?

We seperate out all of these conversations into channels.  We use teams because of all of the other tools we are incorporating into these discussions.   If there is no real option to close conversations we could close the channel and start a new one.  Something to consider.

Hi, I also have a similar problem. We just started using teams to test it. I accidentally added a huge AD group of 660 people to my test team. Once I realized that Teams had emailed the whole company with an invite, I had to individually delete all 600 members. Now the chat shows streams (a tone of lines) of "Sandy Vallee removed Joe Smith from the team". When you try to scroll up to the conversations that happened before the removes, it won't go up, its slow and feels impossible to get to the top of the thread. You can if you scroll wait scroll wait etc... It would be nice to remove or collapse all these remove user lines if possible.

After three years, it look like there is no intention to ever changes this.
It's messy that conversations can never end, no compartmentalizing, no closure! Ick!
Someone suggested Hiding the Chat, but that doesn't help at all. I tried it on my colleague Dave. That just made Dave go away completely (sorry, Dave!). When I found Dave and brought him back, the whole never-ending conversation came back up, too. Crap. That means no matter what, the next time he opens a chat with me, he’ll be immediately reminded of all those horrible names I called him in our last meeting! ;)
