Up until last week, we were receiving the popup window when  new chat came in.  This week that behavior seems to have changed.

Now we do NOT receive a notification of a chat, if we are actually sitting in the chat window.  We DO get the notification if ANOTHER user sends us a message, but not if the user we are chatting with, IF we happen to be in the chat window with them.

Make sense?

So if you are chatting with a user, and then you go on to something else, and they continue to chat with you, you will not get any notification visually or audibly to let you know that they are actively trying to reach you.

Pretty certain that it was working as expected last week.  Several users have come to me today about that.  Any thoughts?  Anyone else notice this behavior?

Known issue by us, it's just not notifying on chat's that are left open and you change focus to another app, then you click a banner notification from another chat and you'll have no idea you got a new message.

Anyway, I talked to someone at Microsoft about it and they are directly taking it to notifications Team, so they should know about it and working on it if they aren't already.

There are known issues with notifications in Teams and the Team is working on sorting them out

Hi Todd, a patch is/has rolled out to fix this issue, check for updates and you should be good to go.If it hasn't hit your tenant yet it should anytime soon!
