My Team comments were shared to my groups conversation feed in Outlook groups but not the chat thread for the channel. But thanks.

Ah, you're talking about notifications. This is not working yet into Teams like it does for the Outlook Group if you're using Planner on the web. This should be coming in the future hopefully.
Currently we do this manually by tagging whoever we need to notify in the channel and then providing a deeplink to the task itself. You'll see if you hit the ...'s at the very top of an individual task in Planner inside Teams, you can generate a direct link to that task itself. Definitely looking forward to the automation of this.
I'd also keep an eye on Build, as there may or may not be some interesting things around this... ;)

So basically even though the Comments feature exists, it does not work? Is that correct?
I was really hoping to be able to have my team utilising this so that we could communicate more effectively without having to post in the main Conversations section.
Also, is it possible to lock down the tasks in planner so that some team members cannot change the status, delete, etc?

I have a similar issue it has space for adding comments but it doesn't actually work. microsoft tech said add to this thread to get devs interested in working on that feature.
