Can we Hide Files Tabs in Teams Channels?

Is it Possible to hide Files Tab from Teams Channels?

Here is my requirement,

My Client wants restrict drag and drop folders in SharePoint Document library. I have achieved that using SPFx extension but i t is not working Teams Files Tab. Is it possible to Hide the hide the Files Tab or update SPFx functionality in Teams Files Tab?

Microsoft has announced that this is now possible:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/turn-off-teams-native-file-upload-policy

According to the documentation this can now be turned off for specific users or globally setting teams policies via PowerShell.
The down side might be that people will not be able to see the Files tab also in chats and meetings which is a quite useful feature.
