can't open teams--permission

Installed Teams (first day of online learning) on Macbook Air running 10.13.6.  Installer ran smoothly, but when I clicked the icon, I got:

You do not have permission to open the application “Microsoft Teams”.

Hi @sam_turner ,

Could you send a screenshot please? I am wanting to see if I can figure out whether this is being blocked by the OS from launching or if it is further along in the process on is more on the Teams application side of things?

Thanks for the shots. So that is definitely getting blocked on the MAC OS side and nothing to do with the Teams app as such.

Unfortunately I am a Windows user but does anything in the following help?

Also is your MAC a managed device or your own personal one but even then if it is registered in Intune, you could be impacted by certain things.

Are you able to access via Teams.Microsoft.com in the meantime.
