I've run into an annoyance. We post PDF proof files during the course of a project, but there is no way to move those to folders after posting without breaking the connection. This is very incovenient because the only workaround it to upload the file to the folder first and then Share a link on the comment. Is this something that will be fixed in the future?

Can you elaborate more on what you mean by "without breaking the connection"?

Sure. If I attach a PDF to a comment in Teams, it shows that file in the Files tab. However, if I try to move the PDF to a folder after the fact, I get an error when I try to access the file from the comment again. If I move it back to the original location in Files outside of the folder, I can open it once more.

Yeah if you use get link you can see Teams uses the path to the file and some other jumbo vs. the SharePoint link just references the fileid which should be the case for reasons like this. I beleive they are making it so if you post a file into Teams from SharePoint etc. it has the same UI as attaching a file direct so this should help, and hoping they change the way the files are handled too in the process, but definatley something I would probably report on Uservoice if it's not already there.

Yes have same problem - link breaks for pdfs but not for word docs

For me, the link breaks regardless of file format (including word).

Quite an old thread yet I see no correct answer on that thing despite how common it is. Nevertheless, you can't change the file path without breaking the link, that's true. The very thing you're capable of here is to update the link after moving a file in there, with the conversion tool like this one https://www.altopdf.com/ There's not a solid number of features to try, but to me it works out
