Users in our org are experiencing issues downloading files through the Desktop client. We are Mac based but I've seen the issue on a PC vm. I've been talking to Microsoft but so far they haven't really come up which much. When I just tested it on a new machine that hadn't run Teams before the issue wasn't occurring. So I'm thinking maybe it's a weird cache file thing. Microsoft gave me the location of one folder but I'm pretty sure there's more than one location. Anyone else having this issue or know of all the folders the Mac uses to cache?

Looked here:

Teams for Mac stores data in Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams

Thanks. That seems to be the only one. It didn't make any difference so I guess that's not the issue.

@Nick Perfetto this issue has happened to me as well, with some PDFs. I have also noticed with a brand new machine and starting Teams, I can download those files. It does sound like a caching issue.

I am having the same issues on a PC running Teams desktop app. But mine seems to be having issues with Excel files. I can't even download files that I myself had originally uploaded via Teams. Not having trouble with other file types at the moment, just Excel files.

I believe we've found the issue. Invalid characters in the file name or if that file is in a folder in the folder name. I believe for us it was a space at the end of the name. Unlike OneDrive that tells you there are invalid characters in the name of the file Teams seems to be cool with the characters until you try to use the file and then doesn't work but won't tell you why.
