When I call someone using my Bose Quiet Comfort 35 headphones it doesn't ring; I can't tell I'm calling anyone.  I think the problem is due stereo playback vs headset playback.

I have exactly the same experience - my headset is a Plantronics Voyager 5200 UC connected to the PC with a BT600. Not a stereo problem I don't think.

 

When using teams no ring tone plays on the headset, though the call itself works fine. The irony is the call quality on Teams is so good, it's impossible to tell if the silence is due to it still connecting, or just no-one speaking.

 

Works perfectly on Skype for Business - I can hear the outgoing and incoming ring tones at call initiation.

I have exactly the same situation when using Plantronics Calisto 620 bluetooth wireless speakerphone.

Works great with Skype enterprise but is completely mute with Teams.

 

Any ideas 

Would be interesting to know if this is even on the development team's radar - any response possible here?

Check your PC Speakers, the sound is being played through the PC/Laptop sound card.  Feature for now

At my end, the Calisto Plantronics is now working properly with Teams. I guess that Microsoft has made some updates with the ongoing migration from Skype enterprise to Teams.

@Stuart Stephenson I'm well aware that it's playing through the PC speakers, but this is not consistent with the experience from S4B where you could designate which device to ring through.

 

I am unsure of what you mean by "Feature for now" - are you saying this functionality is intentionally not available but will be in the future, or is this not expected behaviour but isn't a high priority fix right now?

I raised a thread on User Voice for this, this is a place where the Teams product group look to see what issues are affecting users. might pay to go vote for it over there.

@James Arber in the user voice link, it says it is now available in teams. However, using any speaker (headseat or laptop speaker) isn't working for me. It was working for me before for both.

I had the same issues - resolved by updating my sound settings

go to Settings  > Sound > Advanced Sound options > click on the App Volume and Device Preferences.

 

You should seen teams listed there  - just set your output / input device to your head set  / or the  device you are using.

 

On the settings page, @HanHarp describes, I hadn't any entry for Teams. It appeared after I clicked [Reset]. After that I heard the ringtone while calling out!
