Having this issue pop up at one of our clients at work. No suggested fixes on it have worked so far, the user who reported it is using the web version in Edge as a workaround but would much rather be using Chrome, or even better the desktop app.

Thanks for letting me know what you have found. Some of the users in my company are doing it through the Calendar icon in the Teams desktop app to set up meetings with Teams. Web version also works

We're seeing it happen regardless of how the Teams app is opened (web app still works fine in Edge but not in Chrome). However only one user is getting hit by this, everyone else in the organization is working fine, and the issue is persisting through reinstalls. It usually doesn't trigger until about a day or two after Teams is reinstalled, which makes it even more annoying.

create a shortcut on the desktop pointing to this path C:\Users\billy_mccabe\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\Update.exe --processStart "Teams.exe"

@Eldo Rajan did you get any answers.. Slack is going to kill TEAMS, if the feature is not enabled sooner than later.. I like other call in features and such in teams.. its so hard to keep many apps.. i prefer MS teams/onedrive/sharepoint and other tools to keep the business running and avoiding confusion.

@Kenneth CampbellThanks this helped me with the black teams window. It was like that for a little over a day, every time I opened it. I followed you feedback and right-clicked on the teams icon in the system tray and then signed out, re-opened teams, and was able to sign in and see the window contents again.

None of the fixes in this thread worked for me. Here's what did:
I already had Teams working on several devices already. When I installed the Teams App on a new work laptop, I got the blank white screen. After trying everything here (and more), I finally gave up on the app and logged in via IE. Once logged in, I saw the app download icon on the lower left corner of the web interface. I clicked on that and ran the install (I didn't even bother uninstalling the previous install). Boom! The Teams app opened and asked for my login info!
I joined this community just to share this, so I hope this helps someone.

@Eldo Rajan Hello, I had this issue with several of my colleagues. The fix I found was to give Modify right on the Teams folder from \\appdata\Local\Microsoft\Teams and it is ok. I noticed that when wasn't working if I used the admin account to run the app and put in user credentials was ok. So it has something to do with the user rights on that folder.
Also I start Teams from the appdata folder, not the Shortcut windows puts up (this one contains some variables like -update and so)
Hope this helps.

I too encountered the dreaded blank/white Teams logon dialogue. Canceling out gave me error code 4c7. If I let it time out after five minutes I got error code caa7000a.
My fix: Uninstall Teams, delete everything in Credential Manager, then delete Teams folders from the user's profile. Reboot, then re-install teams. The folders I deleted were:

I have the exact same problem. It happened like this: my laptop shutdown suddenly because there is no battery and the power went out. When I opened teams again, it was a jet black box in the middle of the screen. So then I uninstalled and reinstalled Teams again from the office365 website and now my Teams is a screenful of white. I am on a Lenovo Thinkpad W520 sans battery. Windows 10 64-bit. I am at my wit's end on what to do next. Somebody please help me.
