Is there a way to have a background with your name appearing in front of you - see pic example

Hello, I'm afraid not (at least nothing I've never seen or heard). The reason it wouldn't work with a background effect is that Teams uses AI and your device’s camera to isolate your silhouette from the background around you.

I suppose it something that is common when producing more professional content though, such as a live event or similar. But I have no experience of high-end productions.
