This is a feature I need badly, as pretty much every other office chat program does this and has done this for years.

When I am presenting my screen (Intel Unite, Webex, etc), Teams should automatically set my status to DND. Then, when presenting has stopped, it should reset my status.

Currently, because of this problem, I have all notifications turned off because of the extremely intrusive nature of Teams notifications, and as a result I miss messages. Obviously, I have made a value judgement here and have decided that I'd rather miss messages than have them intrude, but every other major platform has significantly more intelligent notifications. Teams should be the same.

Uservoice open for this one here

https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/35261014-automatic-dnd-when-pr...

This includes notifications to Honour DND when presenting. There are some links in this uservoice to others which state that Microsoft is working on the honouring of DND by notifications

As always would recommend you vote to push it up the agenda. Automatic DND and notifications honouring DND is something we should have.

Hope this answers your question

Best, Chris

@fschaeffer   I hate the automatic do not disturb with a passion, because it blocks messages I sometimes need to see even while sharing my screen (I often host shared-screen working sessions through Teams rather than full meetings).  In Skype for Business there was an option for having Do Not Disturb activate automatically when presenting or not.  To me, Teams needs to replicate that Skype for Business functionality in our personalized settings for using Microsoft Teams.

@MJM99  I'm all for this as well. We use screen sharing for providing information to a team of people on a regular basis, and having notifications suppressed by being forced into DnD creates a problem where attention is lost to conversations. Priority access doesn't always work either, especially in group chats, which my company uses frequently. Having the option to disable DnD when screen-sharing would be hugely beneficial.
