Auto-play Powerpoint presentation in Teams visible for everyone at the same time

Copper Contributor

How can I make a Powerpoint presentation play automatically within a Teams-meeting? The intention is that all users in the Teams meeting see this presentation playing at the same time, just like when you show a Powerpoint presentation that everyone sees on a beamer/projector in a 'real' meeting.

Hi @Ruben - set up your PowerPoint presentation, start presenter mode, share your desktop (if there's any audio in your PowerPoint, be sure to click the option to share system audio) and click play on your PowerPoint.

Hi Kelly E, thank you for your quick reply.

We tried to share the Powerpoint / Presenter window, but unfortunately we were unable to choose the full-screen Presenter window in Teams on Windows. Teams controls were not visible. The participants only saw the Powerpoint screen itself with the list of slides on the left. The color of the slide design was also slightly off.

We didn't want the participants to show the entire desktop, that didn't seem very professional-looking to us, but we just wanted to make the presentation itself visible.

Also on the Mac the option to send system audio does not seem available.

In any case, thank you in advance!

hi@Ruben - admittedly, this is easiest with 2 monitors so that you can share the presentation on one and still see your taskbar and switch between the backstage presenter mode and the meeting itself.

Thank you for the answer, we will try this!
