I've been getting repeatedly logged out of Teams on Android for the past week or so. Other Android users on my team are also affected. Is this a known issue?

I'm running the Android client and don't have that problem. I have to authenticate with Microsoft Authenticator when that session times out (I have MFA acctivated) but I don't have to do any extra sign-in to Teams.

 

Is it the same if you are connected to WiFi/Mobile network? Can you try to uninstall and install the Teams app?

I have to re-login to my android app about 10-20 times per day. Nearly every time I open up the app after the phone has been idle for a while. The log-outs seem independent of the internet source (Wifi vs. cellular). I have re-installed the Teams app about 5 times at this point. The rest of the Android users on my team are experiencing similar log-outs.

I get a similar issue using the Outlook app. I find that I need to keep authenticating / having MFA in the background to refresh my inbox.

Same problem here. OneDrive, Teams and Outlook all give the "sign-in" notification. When I sign-in on one of the apps the rest will disappear. Very annoying.

I've had this issue for the past few weeks, and had done everything everyone else had attempted. What I did was remove my phone from the security 2-factor in its entirety, and then re-added it. Once I did that, it re-authenticated once, and stopped bugging me.

Interestingly enough, my phone was showing up twice as a listed device for 2-factor. I think it might have been related to a reset of the phone I had to do a while ago. Not sure if related, but worth noting just in case.

I'm experiencing a similar issue.

I use Outlook and Teams with my Enterprise o365 account.

And both Apps are continuously requesting to login.

 

Interestingly when I uninstall Teams, Outlook stop the logouts/logins loop.

I also tried it on another Android phone, and there no problem Outlook and Teams works just fine.

 

Any idea on how to solve this?

The conflict between outlook on Enterprise o365 and teams is an interesting observation, alas I can't really afford to uninstall either :( I've tried removing the device from 2fa (using Ms authenticator) and re-adding but the only thing I can confirm is it's seemingly asking less, but IMO it still occasionally asks again. Ugh. In addition, for some reason, teams no longer rings my phone causing me to miss calls.
I would have expected more integration testing of the tools, aren't all the folks at msft using them (at least in the Android engineering group?). The teams app was great for a while and seems to have regressed in the past months.

I had one user report this. I disabled MFA as a test and no re-occurrence. I just experienced the issue myself and will leave MFA enabled to monitor.

@jramsay In my case, I had no MFA activated at all.

The solution that I chose  is to get rid of Outlook and use instead the Gmail App.

Now the Teams App just work fine, and Gmail App works also fine with my o365 mails.

 

It's a bit sad because I like the Outlook App, but well the constants logs-out was a real nightmare ... so this solution is ok for me atm.

I have no MFA enabled, so I don't know exactly what the issue could be.
Definitely considering switching to the Gmail app, the issue is that the log out also occurs for the Teams app for which there is no alternative.
It's like Outlook and Teams Apps are messing up with the o365 account.
When replacing Outlook by Gmail, the Teams App is not anymore getting the log outs.
I just replaced outlook with Gmail. Will report back.

This might be an issue with a third-party two-step login app. I have the Microsoft "Authenticator" app for two-step access to my personal accounts, but at work we use a third-party solution for that. However, my work email was listed in that app. I deleted it (kept only my personal email in there) and after maybe one or two last requests to login, I haven't seen any others for many hours (it was every few minutes before). 

@Jim777  I only use windows authenticator for all my 2fa and I even tried removing the account and re-adding it.

@Jonthelin, I have the same problem, MFA enabled. Seems they sign eachother out when they sign in. They replace the same token I think.

Is this a confirmed issue? Started occuring some weeks ago. Teams and Outlook andorid app with authenticator keep signing off/on throughout the day.
Been experiencing this issue for about 2 weeks now. It seemed to be caused by either OneDrive or Skype For Business also being installed as removing either/both of those apps seemed to resolve the issue for a brief time, but it eventually came back. I just tried disabling/re-enabling MFA on my account, removing/reinstalled both apps, and signing back in with fresh MFA. Hopefully that fixes it because this has been driving me nuts.
I no longer have s4b (haven't for quite some time), which would seem to point at OneDrive. However, OneDrive is the only app that is NOT constantly demanding re-authentication (Teams and Outlook seem to be involved on my device).
I've got the same issue, but with the Yammer app. Each time I log into Yammer, I am logged out from Outlook and Teams.
I also experience the exact same issue @thriolsson describes.
It's pretty annoying :(

@DannyKay In my case I can really pin it down to the moment I reset my phone. After I reinstalled everything it started. I tried to remove the business accounts from the account management, and it seems that it happens less often now. But that can just be a feeling.

Same issue. Seems like after the latest outlook for Android update occurred, the two apps sign one another out. How can we get Microsoft to notice or have they issued an advisory?
Same issues here. This happened for me on Android 9, as well as the now new Android 10. I have MFA setup with my company and have tried using App Passwords to solve the problem to no avail. Dear someone at Microsoft: see this thread and consider our case! This is really hampering my ability to be available for either email or Teams messages on the go!

Me and my collegues on Android constantly have to re-login in Outlook/Teams on our mobile. We also use MFA (3rd party - Okta)
The fix that worked for me was to turn off battery optimization in the Authenticator app on my phone. It had the label "Stay logged in to your Microsoft Work out school account" and a strangely non-button looking "Turn off". Now outlook and teams both seem to run without constant log ins.

@DaveCrFor me it, unfortunately, did not work.
I installed the Android Yammer app (I removed it previously because of the reported issue) and initially it looked like your suggestion worked. However, after a couple of minutes I got the message back that I needed to sign in to OneDrive and Outlook :(

I can cautiously confirm that the authenticator advice solved this issue for me. I also selected the option 'enable phone sign in' (odd, I assumed that is what it was for to begin with?!) And after that, it seems that the sso sticks. Thanks @DaveCr

I have to say, that there's still an underlying issue for me after the change. I do see 'Sign on' messages every so often, but clicking them no longer requires any password or other interaction
