I know I can add a SharePoint site to the MS Teams channel. Is there a way to also add a sharepoint list?

I've done it by adding a Website with the full URL of the list. Clunky but works for now. Strange that MS have so many addins and connectors but not one OOB for a SP list!!

Sadly this no longer works as the List refuses to be embedded in the team site. Presumably something to do with various refreshes. Anyone got any ideas about how to surface a List in Teams now?

i just tried to load a tab with a SharePoint Site and it gives a error.
Maybe only with a static tab via development work

I think it is because the domain is not valid in the manifest which is generated.

The SharePoint page tab is coming next year, using the website tab doesn't work well due to authentication, it depends whether you are logged on and have a session.
Try building a powerapp from the list, there is a tab for powerapps.

Nope that is the same issue as I have that is noted above. Something has changed and the old way of embedding a sharepoint list in a web page is no longer allowed.

Adding this functionality is a no-brainer. Not being able to leverage the power of lists in Teams limits its overall utility.

That works fine, but they could have a tab app especially for SharePoint list, seems obvious when they have it for document library.

In the blog it mentions the Teams' Modern UI vs. Classic UI without a definition of what each is. Can you help me out with what these are referring to?

Classic UI is what you would think of when you think of SharePoint 2013, whereby you have a ribbon, search box in the top right corner, and a generally unresponsive page layout. It relied on a master page to give the majority of the page its structure and styling, and used either content zones or web part zones on the page to allow you to structure the content.
The Modern UI is what you now see, as an example, when you create a new Team site or Communication site. The interface is designed to be completely mobile responsive, with more emphasis placed around on-screen editing and placement of web parts e.g. you simply press + where you want a new web part or section.

Just tried it out and works well. It would be nice to instantiate a list directly in Teams without having to go to SharePoint first. One day, perhaps.
