accessing chat as guest to Team meeting

We are regularly invited to Team meetings (as guests, NOT Team members), but do NOT have access to chat. Aside from requesting that we are temporarily added as Team members for the purpose of accessing the chat during the meeting, is there any other less cumbersome way to enable access to chat for non-Team member guests to Teams Team meetings?

Usually this is caused by the organizer of the meeting creating it so it’s in a channel. You must be a member of the team to chat in that case. Have the meetings created without a selected channel and anyone should be able to chat joining the meeting unless it’s disabled via policies.
The problem is we don’t want to mess with the preference for the organizer to set to an channel because it is a regularly scheduled class/specific group of students invited to the meeting. Is there another way to enable chat for guests?
Guests can chat in a channel meeting if they are in the team. Otherwise there is no way to join a chat of a meeting that takes place in a channel currently.
