Does there exist any documentation that clearly states that 3PIP phones such as the Polycom VVX are supported with Teams direct routing? What is Microsoft's stance on this? We have customers with Polycom VVX phones on SfB that wish to move to Teams with direct routing for PSTN. They want to continue to use thier VVX phones and are not interested in purchasing new ones. This link makes mention that a user set to TeamsOnly mode "Can continue to use Skype for Business IP phones." Does this statement assume that PSTN calling from a 3PIP through direct routing is supported?
3PIP Phones are supported with Teams, so they will also work with Direct Routing. I would say I don't quite know enough as to whether you would get media bypass in this sceanrio, the sip phones are connecting to a gateway that makes them work with Teams. I would imagine your SBC vendors would probably be bale to answer that, Audiocodes or Ribbon.
Thanks for the response. I doubt media bypass would work as well. My main concern is the messaging to customers that they can continue to use their 3PIP phones with direct routing when fully migrated to Teams.
